student employee named valedictorian

Our very own Jacob Vrooman is valedictorian of the 2008 graduating class of Mathews High School. You can read more about Jacob in a recent article in the Gazette-Journal.

Jacob is scheduled to cook for us on Father’s Day. Stick you head in the galley and congratulate him!

2008 board members elected

At the MYC Annual Meeting on December 6, the following officers and directors were elected to the board:

Commodore: Capt. William F. Story
Vice Commodore: Mr.Terry C. Pletcher
Rear Commodore: Mr. Ted Broderson
Fleet Captain: Mr. Donald "Chip" Kinsey, Jr.
Fleet Surgeon: Mr. Bill Bottoms
Secretary: Col. Stephen E. Wilson
Treasurer: Mr. Thomas E. Flounders, III
Directors: Mr. John E. Brown, Sr., Mr. Ronald D. Duff, Mr. Thorton M. "Tim" Hill, Jr., and Mr. W. Hunt Thompson

Their terms of office begin January 1, 2008.
